About WEST HILL HILL COMMUNITY SUPPORT PROGRAM

At West Hill Community Support Program, we are dedicated to fostering a strong and resilient community through comprehensive support services tailored to meet the diverse needs of our residents. Located at the intersection of Morningside and Lawrence Avenue, our mission is to combat the food insecurity and enhance the quality of life for all who live in the West Hill area.

West Hill Community Support Program is a vital resource for the West Hill community in Toronto, known for its vibrant diversity yet challenged by food insecurity and economic hardship. Our food bank operates twice a week, providing essential support to those in need.

We offer a variety of programs designed to address the specific needs of our community:

• Seniors: We provide nutritious food options that cater to the health and wellness of our senior residents.
• School Program: We support the nutritional needs of children and youth, ensuring they have the energy and health to succeed in their educational endeavors.
• Shelter Feeding: In partnership with local shelters, we deliver consistent food services to support the displaced and vulnerable.
• Community Walk-In Food-Bank: Open to all, our food bank ensures that no member of our community goes hungry, serving 395 individuals facing food scarcity every week.

West Hill is home to eight shelters and over ten social housing buildings, and has been designated as a priority neighbourhood by the City of Toronto. This designation highlights the critical need for the services we provide. Every week, we proudly serve 85 seniors, 120 school children, 250 shelter residents, and 395 walk-in clients, totaling 850 community members who rely on us.

We offer a variety of programmes to help our clients get back on their feet. From job training to mental health counseling, we provide the resources and support necessary to help individuals achieve their goals.

Volunteers are the backbone of our organization. We offer a variety of opportunities for individuals and groups to get involved and make a difference in the lives of those we serve.
