Our Impact
About West Hill Community Support Program
Who We Are
WHCSP is a trusted community hub in West Hill, serving one of Toronto's most underserved neighborhoods. Designated as a priority community by the City of Toronto, West Hill is home to eight shelters and over ten social housing buildings, with many residents facing food insecurity.
Located at Morningside and Lawrence Avenue, our mission is to combat food insecurity and support the overall well-being of those who call West Hill home.
We provide food-security support to more than six schools and shelters. We are also preparing to launch a new food bank at 4301, expanding our ability to support the community.
Why Support Us?
West Hill continues to face rising food insecurity, and the demand for our Food Bank service is growing. With the closure of other community food banks, we remain one of the few organizations addressing this urgent need. Your support helps us expand storage, increase food supplies, and sustain this essential service.
Our Services
We provide food-security support to residents through:
- ✦Tuesday Public Food Bank
Serving 987 individuals weekly — our regular walk-in Food Bank service, open every Tuesday from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM.
- ✦School & Community-Hub Food Support
On other scheduled days, we work directly with schools and community hubs to deliver targeted food support — not open to general walk-in visits.
- ✦School Breakfast Club
A food-security initiative that helps participating students access breakfast on scheduled school-service days.
Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteers are the backbone of our organization. We offer a variety of opportunities for individuals and groups to get involved and make a difference in the lives of those we serve.
